SANSKAR - EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME |

- Since 1967, Parishad has been organising National Group Song Competition of patriotic songs among school children at branch, state and national level. Lakhs of students from over 5,000 schools take part in this competition every year. At the national level 800 children from 42 Prants participated in the All India level competition held during 2008-09.

Over 11 lakhs students take part in "Bharat Ko Jano" competition every year. Over one lakh books are distributed among the school students every year for their preparation.
- BVP is the only organization in the country which organizes patriotic songs competition in Sanskrit language among school children at branch, state and national level. In the competition held at National level during 2008-09, children from 35 Prants participated. Government of Uttarakhand declared prizes of Rs.50,000, Rs. 25,000 and Rs.5,000 for teams standing First, Second and Third respectively.

Through the Guru Vandan Chhatra Abhinandan programme, Parishad aims at strengthening in the minds of children their respect for their parents and teachers. Over 30 lakhs students participate in this programme every year.

Over 400 Bal, Yuva, Parivar and Praud sanskar shivirs are organized all over the country where over 60,000 individuals participate every year.

Bharat Vikas Parishad has brought out 35 publications and is publishing a bilingual monthly journal “NITI” in Hindi and English. Its circulation is 40,000 copies per month and it reaches every member of the Parishad. A bilingual quarterly magazine “Gyan Prabha” is also brought out.

SEWA - SERVICE PROGRAMME

- Bharat Vikas Parishad is running over 1,100 permanent projects, whose activities are conducted on daily or weekly basis. These projects include Hospitals, Clinics, Physiotherapy Centres, Mobile Vans, Pathology Labs, Ultrasound Centres, Blood Banks, Educational Institutions, etc.
- Bharat Vikas Parishad, through its 13 centres spread all over the country, provides artificial limbs and other aids to the largest number of handicapped persons in the country year after year.

During 2007-08, Parishad provided artificial limbs, calipers, tricycles and wheel chairs to 23,658 handicapped persons costing over Rs. 2.80 crores free of cost.

Parishad’s two Viklang Sahayata centres at Delhi and Ludhiana have won President's award for service to the handicapped persons in 1995 and 2004 respectively.

Prime Minister bestowed FICCI award to our Ludhiana centre in 2007.

The Parishad has a Super Specialty Hospital at Kota spread over 40,000 square feet which annually treats over 1.70 lakhs patients in its OPD. Similarly, BVP Charitable Diagnostic Centre at Chandigarh provides its services to over one lakh annually. The total of number of beneficiaries in BVP hospitals and medical camps is over 7.10 lakhs annually.

Parishad has adopted about 200 villages and urban slums for their development.

Parishad has taken up work for integrated development in 14 villages in various states. One of them, Mohabbatpur village (Haryana), has been awarded "Nirmal Gram Purskar" by President of India in 2008 on attaining full sanitation coverage in households, schools, anganwadis and for outstanding contribution in promotion of rural sanitation.

Parishad is assisting vanvasi brethren in North-East and other states in setting up and running hospitals, dispensaries, medical and health centres, schools, hostels, etc.

Our branches annually plant about 1.50 lakhs trees throughout the country.

Parishad organises marriages of between 300 and 400 couples belonging to the weaker sections of the society every year.

Parishad, through its legal cells in each of its Zones, provides aid to poor and needy women.
